Treaty 1 and Dakota Territory, Homeland of the Red River Metis, Winnipeg MB – The Manitoba NDP Caucus has a new chair, MLA for St. Boniface, Robert Loiselle, with MLA for Tuxedo, Carla Compton, joining caucus leadership as the new deputy chair.
“The NDP government will continue to deliver for Manitobans,” said Caucus Chair Robert Loiselle. “ In just one year, our late Minister of Education and Early Childhood Learning, Nello Altomare, made a significant step by ensuring that children in every corner of our province can access food in schools. The universal school nutrition program is an achievement we can all be proud of. In the spirit of this, our team will keep rebuilding health care for Manitobans and lowering costs for them and their families.”
The position became available as former caucus chair, MLA for Riel, Mike Moyes, was appointed to serve as Minister of Environment and Climate Change. The NDP Caucus thanks Minister Moyes for his leadership and wishes him success in his new role in cabinet.
