Pallister’s Hands out $1.1M for Yet Another Health Care Consultant Total Bill for Health Consultants Now Some $6M

Treaty 1 Territory, Winnipeg, MB—After spending a total of $4.8 million on high-priced consultants to cut health care, Brian Pallister’s Conservatives have handed out another $1,142,371.65 million contract to BRAID Solutions Inc.

The Manitoba NDP has learned through freedom of information requests the Pallister government has paid Braid Solutions Inc. $1,142,371.65 million over the past three years to lead Pallister’s Health Transformation Management Office and make deep cuts to health care services. “Brian Pallister’s Conservatives continue to hand over millions of dollars to expensive management consultants, all while telling families they have to cut front line health care services to save money,” said NDP Finance Critic Mark Wasyliw. “The truth is Brian Pallister doesn’t care about improving the health outcomes of regular Manitobans. He just wants to give long-standing contracts to consultants so they can carry out his agenda to cut health care.” According to the WRHA, BRAID Solutions is the Lead project manager overseeing the Pallister’s entire health care plan, including :

● The implementation of the province’s Clinical and Preventative Services Plan, which led to the closure of three Winnipeg emergency rooms;

● The implementation of the province’s Human Resources plan, which included firing hundreds of nurses, keeping positions vacant and causing chaos at hospitals;

● The development of all legislative and regulatory changes in Manitoba’s health care sector, including attacks on front line workers and physicians.
