After years of sounding the alarm over the state of our healthcare system, doctors are still not being listened to by the PC government. New information obtained by the Manitoba NDP shows Premier Stefanson’s Surgical Task Force Working Group does not include a single doctor.

“For years doctors and frontline health care workers have been pleading with the government to listen to them,” said NDP Health Critic Uzoma Asagwara. “Brian Pallister refused and Premier Stefanson is doing the same: she’s leading a surgical task force without any doctors. This information verifies what we’ve heard from doctors who quit the task force because they were tired of being ignored and left out of decision making.”

The Premier’s calendar from December, 2, 2022, shows her biweekly meeting with the “Surgical Task Force Working Group”. The working group members include multiple Ministers and PC staffers. Missing from the meeting, however, were doctors or other healthcare professionals.
