Jamie Moses became the first Black man to win a seat in the Manitoba Legislature when he was elected in 2019. Jamie pushed for better provincial supports for small businesses, fought back against the PC’s plan to cut funding to post-secondary institutions, and passed legislation to recognize Emancipation Day within the British Empire. He served as the NDP’s Critic for Advanced Education and Training. He has worked in the finance sector and volunteered with Glenwood Community Centre. As a former Manitoba AAAA athlete, he’s advocated for more safety supports for young athletes and coaches. He and his wife Shannon raise their two children in St. Vital.
