Amanda Lathlin

  • Deputy Whip of the Official Opposition
  • Critic for Families (CFS)

Amanda Lathlin became the first First Nations woman to be elected to the Manitoba Legislative Assembly when she became the MLA for The Pas in 2015. She now serves as the Official Opposition Critic for Families, focusing on improving the CFS system.

She is a mother, a lifelong northerner, a former band councillor and an active volunteer. Amanda worked as a Representative Workforce Coordinator at the University College of the North and was directly involved in creating the kind of educational and career opportunities in northern communities that help families thrive.

Amanda learned from an early age that it takes considerable dedication to fulfill the role of an MLA from her father, the late Honourable Oscar Lathlin. He taught her that hard work and a commitment to northern values are the keys to serving your community well.
